Honolulu – The Honolulu Symphony today announced that Hawaii’s most beloved female vocalist, Amy Hanaiali‘i, will replace Willie K in the Toyota Pops 2008-2009 concert season schedule. Regretfully and due to scheduling conflicts, Willie K will be unable to participate in the current Toyota Pops season on the scheduled dates of Friday, October 3 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 4 at 8 p.m. The Symphony anticipates rescheduling the concert weekend with Willie K in the near future.

All tickets, including Toyota Pops season subscriptions, will be automatically converted. Ticketholders do not need to replace or exchange their tickets. Ticket-related questions are welcome at the Honolulu Symphony Box Office: (808) 792-2000.

The Symphony is honored that Hanaiali‘i and Maestro Matt Catingub will headline what promises to be a fabulous musical weekend featuring new music from Hanaiali‘i’s latest album, “‘Aumakua,” on the same scheduled dates: Friday, October 3 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 4 at 8 p.m. at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Special guest, slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson, will join Hanaiali‘i, Catingub and the marvelous Pops Orchestra for this not-to-be-missed event showcasing “‘Aumakua.”
