Honolulu – Concertgoers can anticipate a spectacular Toyota Pops season opening weekend as Maestro Matt Catingub celebrates his tenth anniversary as Pops conductor with music legend Peter Cetera and the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. The Blaisdell Concert Hall is the place to be on Friday, September 19 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 20 at 8 p.m. as Catingub and Cetera to team up deliver hit after fabulous hit, including Cetera’s chart-topping ballads “Glory of Love,” “You’re The Inspiration” and “If You Leave Me Now.” Tickets start from $20. Groups of 10 people or more are eligible to participate in the new group sales program featuring $10 tickets. Please call the Box Office at (808) 792-2000 or visit www.honolulusymphony.com for more information. This concert is generously sponsored by Toyota Dealers of Hawaii.

As the lead singer and bassist for the legendary rock group Chicago, Cetera wrote and sang some of the biggest hits of the pop music era – and his ensuing solo career has continued the chart-topping successes of his days with Chicago. Cetera’s worldwide success with Chicago includes such hits as “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” “Baby What a Big Surprise,” “Stay the Night,” “Love Me Tomorrow,” “Happy Man,” “Hard Habit to Break,” “Feeling Stronger Every Day” and “Along Comes a Woman.” This September, Hawaii can experience Cetera’s thrilling debut with the Toyota Pops, featuring unforgettable songs such as “After All,” “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” and “Next Time I Fall.”

For his exciting and innovative tenth season as Pops conductor, Catingub has brought together a medley of music’s most applauded entertainers, including smooth jazz saxophonist Dave Koz, “blu-bop” heroes Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Hawaiian music songstress, Amy Hanaiali’i, and the one-and-only Diana Krall. The new season also features a celebration of the music of the legendary Ray Charles featuring Ellis Hall, and the Toyota Pops debut of Latin jazz marvel Poncho Sanchez.

“The Honolulu Symphony invites the whole community to celebrate Matt Catingub’s momentous tenth anniversary as Pops Conductor with one of the most exhilarating seasons in history,” said Tom Gulick, executive director, Honolulu Symphony. “Season subscriptions are selling fast, and one Toyota Pops subscription level has already sold out. We extend our warmest thanks to everyone who has chosen to support our local Symphony by purchasing a season subscription.”

Toyota Pops season subscription levels range from $210 to $511 for all seven concerts, with the $126 having sold out in July. Fans are encouraged to subscribe early to lock-in the best seats and prices. Please call the Box Office at (808) 792-2000 or visit www.honolulusymphony.com for more information.
